Well its good if you put relevant website adds on your website. as this what is recommended but there is no restrictions.

Each site is different, but for me I prefer the 250 x 250 text ads in the upper left hand corner with my text wrapped around them. I keep the background the same color as my sites background and make the titles stand out with a color that matches my site so they look like more content.

You CAN post the same code if you don't want to change the size and type of the ad. But generating new codes by using custom channels would help you track the performance of the ads. Recommended.
