Default Make Them Click Your Adsense!

Okay, here's the scenario. You've got a thousand visitors in a week but no one clicked on your adsense. You got irritated and bit the nearest cactus plant. Stop and hit F5.

Maybe you should consider the following:

    • Choosing the right ad format - Google will give you variety of ad formats. Choosing the most appropriate format for your site/blog will definitely affect your CTR.
    • Color scheme - There are two main techniques that you can use in customizing your ads. First you can blend your ads with the rest of your site. I mean, to emphasize that your ads are part of your site/site contents. Secondly, you can customize your ads and make them more easy to detect or recognize by your visitors simply by using different colors scheme.
    • Choosing the right spot/place - It is one of the most important factors that will determine the success of your adsense campaign. You must put your ads in the most appropriate part of your site. Putting your ads in your sidebar is a good solution.

I didn't know that they factor in the time spent on site. I recently added adsenses to my sites and have seen some income from them, peanuts when compare to the big picture.

I guess the most important factor is ad relevance to the content you are presenting. I had a couple of instances fine tuning and testing every color scheme, ad formats, and ad placements only to find that the ads are either not relevant to the content or the keywords are totally off. I finally come to the conclusion that the competitive ad filter and section targeting seems to be the most crucial in getting your visitors to click on ads they expect to see when they reach your content.

denver8 - Any chance you care to elaborate on "competitive ad filter and section targeting" as I'm not familiar with what you're referring to. I'm trying to get my head around all this stuff as best I can and any additional insight you may be able/willing to provide would be greatly appreciated.

    THX!

    THX!

If you have noticed, your adsense account has a `adsense set up' tab. Click on it and you will find the `competitive ad filter' 5th from the left. Use this to filter out ads you don't like or does not have any relevance to your content by entering the url of the site in the ad appearing on your blog in the given space and save changes. The ad will no longer appear on your blog in the next 24 hours perhaps. In some cases almost immediately.

Section targeting is to use this code :
    <!– google_ad_section_start –>
before a paragraph in a post or an article in which the keywords you would like to target for the ads and end with this code :
    <!– google_ad_section_end –>

This way the keywords are picked up within the define space which will be used as a benchmark to run relevant ads on your blog. It works to some certain extent. But hey its better than nothing....

    Hope that helps.

    Default Make them Click Adsense

In my opinion, adsense will good if placed on the between of articles post. I have try this method and the result is high revenue enough. After that I also try another format by placing on the bottom and sidebar and the result isn't good enough. So I make it re-back to the old format.

I have always had really good results from link ads right below page headlines. Users think they are an additional menu most of the time. But usually get about a 4% or 5% click to view ratio on those.

I suggest putting adsense below each of your article. Making them see the advertisement after reading the article. The article might add to the possibility of readers to click the advertisement since adsense displays related ads.
