There are some excellent ways to handle that but we need to see the pages you want indexed first then we can give you a strong strategy. I rarely ever have a problem getting any pages on my sites indexed unless they hold primarily duplicate content. If this is your issue then you need to rewrite the pages so they are original.

What James said.
Could be a whole variety of things that would lead to the issue.
Give us the URL and we can take a look.

First of all, search engines rank web pages not web sites. So it means the ranking of your homepage doesn't reflect on your sub pages. It's only 5 moths old so probably the sandbox effect is pulling it down. Just continue your efforts.

I am sick of hearing about the sand box effect as every single site I have put up has ranked well in less than three months. The SEO game is far simplier than people want you to think.
1. Put up meaningful original content on a regular basis
2. Make sure you have keywords sprinkled through your content not stuffed full of them.
3. Make sure you do not have duplicate title and description meta tags. Take the time to make them match your content and work in your most important keyword.
4. Keep tables to a minimium and use video to enhance your pages not as your sole content piece.
5. Build a diverse link portfolio that uses links from multiple sources, blogs, static sites, directories, excetra.

I think it will be better if you can go with various tactics like one way linking press release and also article submission.
