This year or next will likely be the best time to buy North Captiva Island FL real estate. Sellers are about as loose as you will ever see at the moment - as inventory is up about 50% from 2005 levels ( which is much better than most other areas in Florida). Since the supply and demand are much better on a unique island such as North Captiva, it wouldn't take that many purchases to stabilize the market. The island has finally recovered from Hurricane Charley and is looking better than ever. My feeling is that by 2010, the demographic pull from the baby boomers wishing to spend their retirement years on or near the beach will re-emerge... and island sales will return to a more normal pace. North Captiva is a bridgless barrier island (with no cars and boat access only ) off the coast of SW Florida with miles of beautiful beaches and several hundred acres of nature preserve.
