Realtor in Minnesota
I am actually a Realtor....working here in Minnesota and wanted to get some thoughts from the community in regards the latest legislative changes. Specifically, what do some of the other buyers and agents out there think about the passing of the bill that ends many of these various down payment assistance programs as of Oct 1st? In other words, Ameridream, the Nehamiah program, etc.
How do you see it impacting your local marketplace? Have you noticed an impact already?
Here in Minneapolis, a lot of the real estate here is still "on sale" if you will. Though higher MLS inventory levels are creating longer market times for sellers, that is not holding back many buyers from getting into the game.
The market here is most assuredly balancing out however..slowly but surely. With less and less homes being put on the market, more pending sales, and less overall inventory...things are looking up.
I honestly believe, even with the elimination of these first time buyer down payment assistance programs, strong first time buyers will still be able to get a loan. There are a number of great products out there, and I don't anticipate a huge downturn from the cut of these abovementioned programs.
Looking forward to hearing others' thoughts in regards to how this will impact your local market.Minnesota MLS & Minneapolis MLS Search homes for sale in Minneapolis, St Paul at MN Multiple Listing Service.
