I agree, houses are much better since it's spacious and gives you and your family lots of privacy.. But others do prefer a condo, and the reason is probably because of time, houses would take awhile to be built while condos are ready for occupancy.

Definitely I prefer a house and lot. It's a good investment not just a home
but also you can get some space on a lot where you can build a house for
    rent.

A house is more spacious than a condo. One is free to do things like nailing in one's house while a condo would have a little small area.

People nowadays tend to practical. Thus, for a huge family, a house would be better.

Default Luxurious Apartment with best amenities

I would want a luxurious apartment in the heart of the city or in a developing area as an investment. It would serve as one of the best homes to live in and someday give me really good returns too!

I'd go for a House as well. I'd be more practical,a house that I could call home where I can build my future family!

So it seems that all have common answers (leaning towards owning a house)...

People prefer owning a home outright as opposed to renting or buying properties like Condos and townhouses, that oftentimes afford them little privacy and little control of what they can do with their properties. But nowadays, people are more practical and would go for accommodations that would suit their budget.

Townhomes can be an excellent investment for renting. They usually have lower HOA's and associated fees, but can house a good sized family and bring in more consistent long term renters. Plus, since they are usually part of a HOA or community group, a lot of the grounds maintenance and property fixes will be taken care of or you'll easily be aware of changes.
