A "killer" anti-viurs program
Hi everyone,
Thought I would share this with everyone. I have over 30 years experience in computers and have beta tested software products for companies for years. No, I don't get any royalities for telling you this, only want to share my knowledge.
I've used all kinds of anti-virus products over the years and was using "Norton" before Peter Norton sold it to "Symantec".
Ever heard of NOD32? This is in my opinion the best anti-virus product on the market. If you are using a "free" anti-virus product you are not getting full protection. AVG is probably one of the best for "free" but NOD32 blows it away. It uses a "thread" technology that uses very little system resources. In other words, your computer will run at least 10 times faster with NOD32 than Norton or some of the others.
Yes, it will cost you about 30 bucks a year but worth it. My company is a lead-generation company and I am always on the Internet and receive over 300 emails a day. I've been using NOD32 for 4 years now and not ONE VIRUS during this time. This is also the only product that had ZERO FALSE POSITIVES.
Enjoy

Agreed...
NOD32 is one of the best AVs. I use it on my servers. But I think for most agents AVG will suffice. Both are pretty light on using computer resources unlike Symantec's product which is incredibly bloated. I stopped I have not come across much viruses hitting me, Some of the greatest threats are malware from infected webservers or adservers. So you could get infected just by going to a website you have come to trust.
In addition to NOD32, AVG, or any other AV product I would strongly recommend Malwarebytes anti-malware. I have used it when my laptop has been hit with Antivirus 2009 malware. It helps greatly with spyware too.

Yes. They serve two different functions. Malwarebytes is an on demand malware scanner - it targets trojans, spyware, and other types of malware whereas AVG is weak in this regard. My primary vocation is a network engineer and its part of my toolbox.

I use Bitdefender and I survived for the time being. Furthermore, it is not that expensive.
