I would say perseverance is the most important trait overall. You have to be able to hang in there when things don't always go your way. Of course, this is not to say that you should not try to analyze problems and try to find better solutions.

Honesty and integrity, like some have already said. Good communication and experience dealing with people is always a plus.

I agree, someone who communicates well, and really feels ethical. They have great enthusiasm for showing and selling property. They follow up and close deals.
