It should help you with Yahoo. It's one of the better directory links that you can have and I recommend it, but some say it is too expensive, but to each their own.

Default The value is in the links

The real value in a link in Yahoo's directory is in the number of websites that use it to feed their link directories.

you know all the link directories out on the web?

There are tons of them that pull from either DMOZ or Yahoo to feed them content.

To be able to sell you a link or an upgrade, they need content in there to start with and scraping Yahoo's is one of the more popular things to do.

So by being in there, you'll get scrapped by others - so not only will you get the link from Yahoo - a high ranking directory, you'll also get all the spin off value of being in the directory.

if you have the means, it's not a bad investment.

Cool thanks for the information. I guess your right they do syndicate or other sites scrape the directory for links.

At this point and time in the market are there really that many links added via scrapping? I mean how many new directories could there be and how many of these survive long enough to get page ranking that will make their links worth anything?

Scrapping is when other humans or robots copy and paste a websites content into their websites.

    Default It's scraping

Might help if these folks got the right spelling. It's "scraping" not "scrapping" (as in "scrape") and involves an automated process for copying content from one site to another.

Yahoo directory? Definitly not worth the money.

It's a directory link which has been paid for ... Google would value a well ranking natural looking link any day.
