    Default Dmoz

My grandmother's slow-cooked roast will be done and ate before anyone gets listed in DMOZ.

Maybe they should farm out the task of sorting new entries to India.

I've been waiting 6 months to get to listed.

I would re-apply if you have been waiting 6 months. I waited about 4 or 5 months and didn't hear anything. I re-applied about month 6 and got listed about a month or two after that.

    re apply!

From my experience and from reading what others have to say, 6 months is about average wait time, so be patient! Very much easier said than done, i know.

It's unreal. 6 months wait time! I have already applied twice in the last year and still have not been included in the directory.

Default hire a dmoz indian seo

Hire a indian SEO company they will have it approved much faster, by posting it on internal forums and requesting the category editor to review it.

Wow, you guys only had to wait 6 months before getting any responses from DMOZ's end? I've heard of people who have waited over a year before hearing back from DMOZ. Then again, who knows if these people ever tried reapplying. Still though, I have read a lot in the past of people waiting a lot longer than 6 months to hear from DMOZ.

I really like the idea of outsourcing it to India. The only problem with that though is outsourcing will probably lead to more artificial DMOZ injection. I can see it now... virtually every SEO company in India advertising that they can get your site in DMOZ in under 24 hours, lol. Even though DMOZ is getting more and more saturated with managers who are only in it for personal reasons, there are still many who pride their managed directories on DMOZ and want to provide the best quality links possible...

Getting listed in DMOZ is great and everything, but it's not worth putting so much effort into. Just apply and reapply once every 6 months, if you get in great, if not try a quick letter to the editor to ask what you can change to be reconsidered for inclusion.

DMOZ won't make or break the bank for you, diversify your efforts.

    I have some good news:

Google gives less and less importance to Dmoz.
Why? Because it's becoming an unreliable source.
From the efficiency point of view, we are listed in Dmoz and almost never get any visits from them.

Therefore, my advice is forget them and try Wikidweb or other local directories.
