Is Dmoz still important?

I have to disagree with the earlier comment about PR and Alex (I tried to reply to it directly but couldn't for some reason). There are 17 sites listed in the category I have been trying to get into, and they are all lower PR and Alexa rank than my site. The reason I can't get in is because the category does not have an editor. I did volunteer to edit it but other than an automated acknowledgement I never heard any more.

that is what i think too , it a good link . apart from that it is hard to prove anything else .
