    Default WIKIPEDIA where are you?

I've been doing a little searching on this forum and don't see one reference to Wikipedia.org. Take a look at Alexas top sites(i cant post the link yet, dont have 15 posts). Its #7 on the list. That means there is a whole lot of traffic to be derived. Please don't go spam our dear friend wiki, but if you have a site that makes sense to on one of the pages, add it. You won't get any link juice from it, cause they do a "no follow" sadness I know. Used to up until 2007, but its still a lot of potential traffic.

I just posted a link to wiki for short sales for someone. Then the next post I read is this one. Funny...

Yes, but even more than just make changes, its 100% user created content. However, you can't just go edit the article about Obama for instance. There is an entire community that has sprung up around wikipedia and you have to have so many edits and be trusted in order to edit pages with higher traffic. Anybody could edit a non-important entry though.

Isn't the problem with links from Wikipedia is that they are NO FOLLOW links and thus they have very little if any value for search engine rankings?

Yes, and the OP mentioned that.

I managed to get a link to one of my sites on a Wikipedia article, and it sent anywhere from 75 - 100 visitors a month. While that's not incredible, it shouldn't be ignored.

Can anybody else who has posted their link on wiki provide data on how much traffic it has generated? Thanks in advance.

I won't tell the exact article due to client privacy, but I will say it's a brand of performance parts for a major auto dealer. It's been well over a year, maybe even closer to two and the link is still there.
