The Yahoo directory has never been a 'bad' directory thats for sure. Theres plenty of sub par directories to stay away from, yahoo isn't one of them.

    Thumbs up

Hi, I feel Yahoo directory is too costly; a recurring annual fee of $299. There may be other options which can give better ROI.

But 299! A year seems a little unreasonable does anyone have any numbers in the the amount of traffic you could possibly get from yahoo? I'm not looking for specifics just really an estimate percentage of total traffic that comes from yahoo.

Unless your making money, I would not recommend getting your site listed. Once your making money, then you can put your site in Yahoo directory. Remember, it's important to get listed but its not a must if your not making a dime.
Good Point. Its not necessary to get into yahoo dir. until you start making money you can do other SEO methods.

I am still debating if I should drop the $299 to get listed (specially difficult to justify on an ongoing basis). I would love to get data from people based on their SERP before and after getting listed.

$299 is absolutely outrageous, Is anyone who is listed seeing $299 worth of benefit?
