@ agentbuilder.... they would see it in the code of the page if they looked, no?

That's pretty unlikely though. Can you PM that program to me...I'd love to take a look at it for a telecommunications site I have with tons of content.

Arrow Copyright vs. Winning The War

I wrote about splogs recently, splog is a term combining spam and blog, the splog, via scripted software uses RSS feeds and scrapes content off other blogs and compiles the content into a blog, thus the blog is made up of the content off other posts. Some splogs intersperse the text with nonsense, while most simply copy blog posts all, or in part and spin them into the new blog, stripping away your back-links.

If you have a blog or website of any significance, you'll be hit by content scrapers. There are some Wordpress plugins that help with blocking known splog IP addresses but that's a partial solution. Those times when I see that a splog has one-upped me and google has given the credit for my content to a Splog, I just go to my blog and change the date of my post, and re-publish it. The Google XML Sitemaps plugin notifies Google and I usually get my content back. Google's algorithms take another run and knock down the copy.

What goes public goes public. Unless you want to make your site private in which they will need to pay to see all the content of your website, in that way you gain something in return if they steal any content or ideas on your website.

Are you talking about text or pics?
to protect pictures we always use watermarks. To protect text - sometimes convert to .pdf. It doesn't, of course fully protects, but at least turns away lazy people
