"Close to work" is priority for homebuyers
In a recent study carried out by Santander Mortgages, approximately 25% of respondents who were looking to buy a property said they would pay more to be closer to their workplace. Good links to public transport was given as a priority item by 21% of respondents
Phil Cliff, Director at Santander Mortgages, said: "It's fascinating to see the value that prospective buyers attach to different property features, and how these evolve as people get older and family situations change."

I agree with what you are saying. It is very logical
I think the survey was just trying to highlight the fact that, even in these tough economic times, people are not willing to sacrifice location for the sake of saving some extra money on their property purchases.

Not In Houston
In Houston we really don't worry to much about being close to work. If you move a little further out, the houses are so cheap.

Catch 22
Aw, the Catch 22 of buying a property. Yes, you want to be near your work for convenience and to save money, but typically areas where there are a lot of jobs cost more. If only there were more high-paying rural jobs.

Isn't this kind of obvious?
Does this really need a study? Isn't it just common sense?
