Default Looking to Buy My First Home

    Hey Everyone:

I am looking to buy my first house. I am 25 years old and need all the help that I can get. I'm looking to buy either a house that's been foreclosed or something pretty cheap in move in condition. I'm looking to spend no more than $65,000 if possible. What would your best advice be?

    I want to know something:

When you call a real estate agent asking for information about a particular house and they tell you that there are offers on it, does it usually mean that one of the offers would likely be accepted? I called one yesterday about a particular house and he told me that there were two good offers on it and he wouldn't give me anymore information about it but to call on Thursday to find out if the offers were accepted for sure or not. I just want to get a look inside the house to see what it's like. It's a foreclosed home which needs a bit of work on the outside, but appears to be move in ready on the inside from what I've seen.

Until an offer is signed by both parties, they must submit all offers! chances are if they have two good offers one will be accepted. The agent cannot discuss those offers in detail or give you what the offer is for! in the meantime you can certainly go see the inside and submit your best offer and make sure you have an agent that follow up, etc!

I think this is not a bad offer in $65,000 but you should be conscious and again talk with any expert or your area's real estate agent about location and property. You should short out all the things or issues before investing or buying your home, you can also take help to inspection inspector.

$65 grand is enough money to buy a pretty decent apartment or a small house. I suggest that before you call a real estate agent, you do the house haunting of your own first. You can look at tv ads, newspaper ad or online ads to check them out. Sometimes people get lucky on their own in terms or finding a place. also, let your friends know that you are searching for a house so if they ever know a place or two, then you would get a good referral.
