Default which makes the most sense as and investment?

    Hi.........,

I have to make a choice between an updated home in an older neighborhood on a newer home in a more modern neighborhood. The home in the older neighborhood has almost everything i want and is much larger, but which makes the most sense as and investment?

    Default My vote: older house

There's no obvious answer. Personally, I think it makes a lot more sense to go with the one you like better. Money isn't the only thing to consider...since ultimately you try to make money so you can enjoy your life more right? As long as the foundation & underlying structure of the older home is sound, I don't see that it'd be a worse investment. Especially because "new modern" homes are so easy to find. The more unique ones can appeal to a buyer who's looking for something different, but it doesn't necessarily rule out the less particular buyers either as long as it isn't falling apart.
