Default Omitting the date for blog posts

Is there any advantage to leaving out the date field for your blog entries?

This applies mostly to blogs in which the information isn't time-sensitive, such as those that are in the form of tutorials. There will still be updates, just not as frequent as other blogs typically update.

If you are not going to update a site very reguarly then not having the date may be an advantage - Who wants to see a company who's "latest news" is six months or a year old?
