Default Moving a site from blogger to wordpress

I have found the blogger importing tool and a tutorial to go with it. However, it seems the import is for going from a blogger site hosted with blogger.com to wordpress. I'm not confident about how to go about it if I am hosting the blogger site. KnowltonsReef is already on my own hosting with it's own domain name. So I'm confused on how to put a wordpress site in it's place including all posts without losing everything if I goof up somehow. Any suggestions? I thought about loading it to a newly setup subdomain then moving it to the knowltonsreef subdomain once I see everything is complete. But will the file names involved make that impossible?

    Any help is highly appreciated.

Well, My suggestion would be import your blogger to your wordress first.

Many of the following Content Import scripts can be found under Tools → Import menu of your WordPress administration interface.

of course you should have a back up before importing your blog.

Then, map your domain (if you wanted it to be domain.com) - paid upgrade

Registering a domain through WordPress.com and mapping that domain to your blog costs $17.00 per domain, per blog, per year. For $8.00 more, you can also make the domain registration private.
Mapping a domain you already own costs $12.00 per domain, per blog, per year.
