Why and where to blog
First things first, why in the world should I spend time blogging and how in the heck does that help my real estate business?
It does not matter if you are an old pro or a newbie in the real estate arena, blogging is the right thing to do and WILL help drive traffic to you! Most standard Realtor websites were not designed with a built in blog system so you are a bit out in the cold. Blogs do work and as an example of how I give you this;
As the head of sales and marketing for the Grapevine Communities I have been looking at "Where does traffic come from?" The answer has been very eye opening. Someone in Pennsylvania did a Google search for "grapevine spider". The forth answer down directed him to a very well written blog about the hobo spider that was written at the SpokaneGrapevine.com.
So what does this mean to you as a Realtor? Think about it for just a moment! If you are a Realtor in Spokane, WA. why worry about the random search done from Pennsylvania? What if that person is looking at moving to the Northwest and typed in "trees in washington" as a Google search? It just so happens that you wrote a blog about trees in Spokane, WA." Now this buyer is directed to your blog that drives this buyer to your website!
In the interest of not getting tooooo long winded let me wrap up. Blog anywhere and everywhere but never write the same thing twice! One little keyword can get you a sale.
OK, Now my pitch - where do I blog?
Try your local Grapevine Community website! They are popping up all over the US. Places like SpokaneGrapevine.com, SacramentoGrapevine.com, LafayetteGrapevine.com, PittsburghGrapevine.com. These are all great places to blog for free and again, blogs are a form of free long term advertising.
I must say that we did just open up around 200 new communities so if you swing by some place like DCGrapevine.com and don't see much activitydon't let that throw you off. It just means thats a new site with no owner marketing it yet. You can still blog there as it can and will help you (or, you can buy the site
.
I believe in the power of the Grapevine and where it will someday be!
Head of Sales and Marketing of the Grapevine Communities. We have an awesome opportunity.
Find a Grapevine near you!

Blogging is a way to get back links that could help your site to be higher in ranking on Google. That's the reason why this method is widely used by the real estate agent. ^_^

Best place to blog is on your own website. If you constantly update your a blog that's on your website, it's always having new content to help with search engines.

Blogging is an effective way of providing traffic and backlinks to your website. You should create a blog within your niche and maintain it regularly with quality posts.

Has anybody else used this 'grapevine' to blog? If so, did you get much traffic out of it?
