Traffic power is suing seobook.com over its blog comments! Here is the full story: http://news.com.com/2061-11199_3-584...5201&subj=news

I've been reading about it for a few days now - what a crappy situation. You can't do anything in the US - as soon as you make comments available on your site - or moderate them, or expect to be sued.
Real Estate Directory - includes links to MLS search, property listings, and your real estate blog. Free content page, featured areas and other options are available.

Phoenix Realtor referred me to this forum! but even he knows SarahK is the best Mod

What is interesting is how the press has jumped on this case and are calling it a test case. IANAL but I would imagine that before it can become a 'test case' for anything, Traffic power would have to prove that a trade secret was actually breached. From what I read it sounds more like sour grapes from traffic power who apparently have offered to drop the suit for other considerations.
It is considered wise to stand on the shoulders of giants but foolish to put yourself in front of them.

I don't know what was posted by that visitor to SEObook.com, but if you google "Traffic Power" you can find all kinds of negative things -- including descriptions of their alleged search engine opimization tactics.

It shouldn't be merely an issue of free speech.

If some of Traffic Power's alleged tactics could be documented, and it turns out the Google was actually banning Traffic Power and their clients -- then Traffic Power could be accused of actually defrauding their clients, and that could turn into a class-action lawsuit (if it were true and could be proved).

What would be interesting is if one of Google's lawyers picked up the phone and called Traffic Power, saying..."if you want to push this, we'll get involved, too"....

    That would be cool.

Most - if not all - of TP's clients received bans and penalties from Google. I belive that it was hundreds if not thousands of clients. I personally know of a handful of people that sites were dropped by Google.

I also remember reading that there was a class action suit pending against TP.

Not to mention that they have changed the company name several times. Gee, I wonder why? Could it be all of the dissatisfied customers? Shady tactics? Would be cool if google got involved. Of course, he could always call their tech staff as a witness.

I seriously doubt that this case will follow through... in the end, they look like the fools win or loose, and everyone knows it...
