    Default Home Buyer

Good day all. First post for me and I'm looking for some info in the realm of homebuying. I'm in the military and will be relocating to Columbia, SC in the near future. I'm confused about the procedures for buying a home and actually what costs, as a buyer I am expected to pay for. Trying to get a rough idea for closing. I will be using the VA Loan program. I've contacted a couple lenders and will decide on the one who obiviously gives me the best rate then probably get a rate lock and close prior to that expiring. I've contacted some realators but I want someone working for me to get the best price and this is where I get a little confused. I've been looking at homes and what I want to do is pick out 10 or so, make a trip and check them out in a month or so. I will be there mid October and plan on closing the first part of October. (Gotta make a wedding in Virginia and figured I'd stop on the way). I know what I want but little confused on how to get there. Any one have any advice or steps I could take, timelines, much appreciative. Thanks

I can give you the contact information of a wonderful agent in SC. He will see to it you are taken care of. You can learn about him on the city data forum. This can be accomplished by pulling up all of his previous posts.

Now to help you with loan seeking process go check out the mortgage forum that is part of this site. As those guys will be able to give you all the nitty gritty on loan costs associated with VA loans.

Hi there, well South Carolina has a good market compare to others right now and buying a home there would be beneficial soon. I think that your idea is good and I see no problem going through it.

Buying a home can be complicated and frightening. You acquire a large debt and assume many new responsibilities. And in the back of your mind is that nagging question,
