Found damage before closing
We are selling our house, signed contract, and are about to agree on issues stemming from home inspection.
We just found some water damage on the wall near the chimney, on the inside of our home. This is a lathe and plaster wall.
Inspector missed it. We just noticed it. We close in 10 days.
What do we do?
HELP!

The damage needs to be fixed by a licensed contractor.
Hope this helps as it is the best I can do without more information on the details of your situation.Last edited by jamesww; 05-17-2008 at 06:43 PM. Reason: Misinterpretation of OP's post must have been a late night

Fix it as soon as possible. There isn't much you can do but try and resolve the issue the fastest way you can so no issues should be brought up.

I agree. Fix it. If not fix, you might get an angry buyer who will go after everybody, you first, to get this paid for and maybe more...Does not worth the few $$ for it...

Tell your agent that the sellers need to get it fixed before you close.

Booming markets invariably bring with it unsavory people, who try to make some quick money through dubious methods. This is more or less the state of India
