    Default how to calculate property tax?

    I don't understand how the property tax is calculated. Can anyone explain to me in detail. I need this information so badly since i am buying a condo.

    You will need to call the assessor's office in the county where the condo is located. They are the only ones who can tell you how the tax is computed and what it is or might be for the coming year. It is all local and no one outside your county can give you a good answer.

    Either hire someone who know how to calculate it or surf the web. there are tools in the net that are helpful.

    how would i be able to search for the assessor's phone number of the condo that i want to buy?

    From Google or Yahoo.
    Search "xxxxx county Property appraiser" Their site will come up and you can search existing property, sales and other information.

    Default millage rate

    Find out what the "millage rate" is for your specific community. Most likely you should be able to obtain this rate thru your cities website.

    what is millage? what does that has to do with the property tax?

    The tax department is listed in the phone book if it is not on the internet. They will tell you exactly how much the tax is. Or, ask your agent. They are supposed to know this stuff.
