Rental investment, gives you a consistent income monthly (depends on the renters) Si I think it will be a good investment.

Overnight rental might even be better IMO...
At least, it gave me more money on a shorter term and a bigger appreciation...
It's probably something to compare with long term rental properties.

I've enjoyed having an income producing property for two years now. There's value in the experience alone. There's also something satisfying about the challenge of managing a rental property. I mean, the bills are coming out of the woodwork (so to speak), but so is the income to cover those bills and a little surplus income to replace an old water heater or install new windows or a new shower. Over all, it really just pays for itself and of course all the while, you're building equity.

Unfortunately though, due to falling prices, my equity is only growing from regular mortgage payments and not from increased value. Ha, if anything, my property might appraise less now than it did a year ago, just because in my area, houses are selling below market value. I see people suffering big losses just to get out of the market now. Maybe they're right and it may only get worse, but I'm enjoying what I have, it seems stable enough to just keep it for awhile. I look at it as a long-term savings plan. I also own a bakery that is struggling with sales this year, but at least I have it and it pays for itself, that's what counts the most, for now...............sigh.

rental investment is generally a good thing, but do your sums before going for it - if it takes too long to get a ROI then perhaps you should look elsewhere!
