General Question about Land...
I am in the market looking for land in the Pierce County area of Washington State and and have a couple of questions.
On average, how much does it cost to get a septic tank put in?
Also, if I have read that a particular property has a high winter water table, what exactly does that mean? Is this a situation where I should probably avoid it at all costs?

This I do have experience with. Septic tanks are typically pretty expensive depending on the size required and the leach field. The one that I had put in cost around $25k.
A high water table means that the ground water is fairly close to the surface of the ground. This is a problem when putting in a septic tank and may require a "mound". In other words, instead of digging down to put the tank in, they actually mound the ground up and place the tank above ground in the mound.
I had all this done in MA and the rules and reg are probably different there but you may have some issues...Tampa Real Estate | Tampa Foreclosures | Tampa Real Estate Blog | Brandon Real Estate

In Kentucky, the health department determines the size of the tank and lateral lines based off the number of bedrooms, soil quality, etc.
Our soil quality is good. We put one in for our horse farm to accommodate 8 bedrooms and it was a little over $8000.
