Default How do I split a building

My uncle owns a 17,000 sf building. I rent about 5000 sf. My part has separate electric, but we share the water and gas. I would like to offer to buy my part. I'm sure the building has one deed, how do we create two deeds and what would be the procedure. We are in Oklahoma. Need imformation and ideas.

Hey! We used to live in Edmond, OK, where are you at?

Anyway, what is the building zoned as? Would it need to be rezoned? I would start with Town Hall and they will direct you to the correct office that should be able to help you.

Another direction would be to talk with a real estate attorney.

I live in Tulsa, my daughter graduated from UCO a couple of years ago. We like Edmond.

The property is zoned commercial. I'll call the city and see what they say. I'll probably need a realestate lawyer to finalize the deal.

Yes, your best bet is to speak to a real estate atty and to go to the building commission and tell them what you want to do and how to proceed.
