Bathroom Remodel Question
I am thinking about removing the bathtub in my master bathroom to make room for a bigger shower and a separate room for the toilet. Do you think this would negatively affect the resale value of my home? When complete, the bathroom will look much more luxurious, but will have no tub. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time.

Just my two cents but I think most people want the tub in the master. I have had some people buy one house over another for that very reason.

Some people take baths. If there is not a tub you will shrink the pool of possible buyers. Leave the tub.

To Tub or not?
Definately leave the tub it's a must in the master and even in the second bath for kids. I sacrifice the seperate room for the toilet over the tub. Nice large glass showers are great also. Gives that spa appearence.

well it looks like you've come to a conclusion but I'd also agree that a tub would be better to have in the bathroom. I think people want something like that. I know that the next house I buy or build will have a luxurious tub in it

Buyers want it all! May be a small sized tub that is deep (a soaking tub) would work and still have room for a sep shower? I like the idea of having the toilet in a sep room as well.
Also consider the materials you use in the remodel. Buy the best you can afford and what your market demands; ie: marble or granite ... two sinks or one.... brushed nickel finish

Our bathroom has a very small shower and a nice whirlpool bath. We've used the bath 3 times in 4 years. All I think about is tareing out the bath and installing a nice tile shower. Problem is, we loved the idea of the bath when we purchased. Tough call.
