Default Is this legal or ethica? Selling realtor tells other bidder my name; bidder calls me!

I placed a bid on a lot this morning. Actually, my initial bid was increased after the seller's realtor told my realtor that they were negotiating with someone else to buy the same lot.

A man calls me at work this afternoon to talk to me about the lot that I am bidding on. He tells me a bunch of reasons why he thinks that I should not buy the lot (one of which was that the neighbors will not like me and my wife for building a house on the lot- - seriously, he said this). This guy also reveals that he is negotiating to buy the lot, too. He also says some other remarkable things, all of which make me very angry, but none of which are releveant to this thread. A few minutes into our conversation, I think, "How did this guy get my name?" He tells me that the seller's realtor revealed my identity!

My realtor is looking into this. Any other ideas in the meantime about this. Is there anything prohibiting a realtor from doing this?

    Umm...First time I read that...Amazing...
In an agency state, I don't see what's wrong. It's open war somehow...
In a transaction state, It's a deal killer...
Now, illegal or unethical, I'll say no, but it's confusing...At least for me...

Every state will be different, but here we have a confidentiality agreement that can be attached to the contract to avoid things like this. It does seem a little weird, but I don't see anything illegal about it.
