Default Tenant Boyfriend Practically Moved In

What is the name of your state? New Jersey

I own a 2-family house in New Jersey. I live on the first floor apartment and have a tenant on the second floor.
Tenant is great, single woman, professional, always pays on time... Keeps the apartment clean. Have been living in there for 1.5 years.
We share our basement where she have a separate room for storage. I have my things in the basement too (which she have access to).

What does your lease agreement state about guests or occupants? I would refer to your lease agreement and if it doesn't spell it out there, than talk with your tenant and see what you can work out!

I am just curious as to what problem her new boyfriend is causing?

Don't you love it when that happens!

I always used to end up with a 'tenant' that had great credit etc, and then they never move in, instead they put family or friends there that were not the most desirable people and the biggest pains -
you gotta be tough...it all business

    Default tenant

Unless you can prove that the boyfriend lives in the unit, you might have a difficult time, especially when your tenant pays the rent on time every month. It all depends on your lease agreement, you may be out of luck unless you spelled out the policy.
