Default My Agent Has become very difficult, crazy and unprofessional -- don't know what to do

I'm in the middle of a house deal (I've put an offer down; it was accepted; I've had inspection).. and suddenly my agent is acting irrational and seems like he's trying to get me to back out of the deal. The situation -- the inspector found a structural issue that he suggested I have a contractor look at, because it could potentially be a problem. My agent does NOT want me bringing a contractor into the house to look at ANYTHING. Extremely argumentative / unprofessional, saying he won't come and open the door for him. All I'm asking is to have a qualified contractor look at an issue.. and he is freaking out, even yelling at me and suggesting, in so many words, that i drop the deal. (makes NO sense!!) What are my options?? Does he answer to his realty company? Do they have any authority over his crazy actions.. or am I just out of luck with this transaction? THANK YOU FOR ANY FEEDBACK...

Talk to the agents 'broker in charge' and request that another agent take over your deal. In these types of situations it should be the agent who is insisting on having the follow up inspection as requested by the home inspector. You are right, they are wrong.

Default Something smells bad here !

I think the agent is more concerned with a quick close -commission rather than your long term interest. Go to broker, if he/she backs the agent talk to the board of real estate about your concerns. The last thing you want is not to give a disclosure and end up in court a year from now.

I am going to guess he is the broker. I find it difficult to believe that an agent would act that way knowing their broker may find out about the behavior.

Have you signed a Buyer's Agent Agreement?

Exclamation Just get rid of this person!

If you have not signed the "Buyer's Agent Agreement" yet, just drop this person as your agent. You are the one who would end up owning the property, not the agent. Unless you are totally satisfied with it, you have the choice not to proceed with it.
