My daughter is trying to sell her house in Fairfield County, CT. The house has been on the market for four months. It's had weekly traffic (usually more than one family). It's in the lower price range for her town. The house is staged beautifully, but is probably the nicest house on the street.

During this time she's received one low-ball offer. Her contract with the realtor is up. But she'd gladly continue to use the same realtor. My daughter wants to take the house off the market until January. Her realtor is encouraging her to keep it on the market. Is there any wisdom to the idea that if someone comes along, it will be one of the few houses available?

Showing with two small boys and a dog is trying. If the above advice is wise, she would consider the hassle.

Thanks for your thoughts.
