Range removed from Homepath house
We found a faenie mae repo that we are wanting to buy. When we went to look at it, the agent (who also works at the same company representing the seller) pointed out there was no range. I had thought that it said on the website a range was included but wasn't sure. We made an offer on the house anyway that day without mentioning the range.
When we got home, we checked the homepath website again and noticed there was a picture of the range in one of the pictures and it listed range under the appliances. I emailed the agent asking what happened to the stove and he said it was stolen before we looked at it and since it was not there when we made our offer, they are not obligated to replace it. After I sent that email, they changed the listing on homepath and MLS so that it no longer mentions the range being included, but I have printed out a copy from before where it listed it.
My question is, does FHA require a house to have a stove to approve the loan? And since it was listed on homepath and MLS as including a stove when we made our offer, could we force seller to replace it? If the stove was stolen, doesn't faenie mae have insurance on the house that would have payed to have it replaced?Last edited by Nipkath; 11-08-2011 at 08:56 AM.
