Default Can I ask for a new HVAC with the purchase?

I am wondering if it is inappropriate in buying a house to ask for a new HVAC if the HVAC is 19 years old? The HVAC is fine after inspection but it worries me that it could go at any time. It also wasn't regularly maintained. Is that appropriate to go to my realtor and ask for that or am I being a little out of line with that request?

This is not a fixer-upper situation, so I want to make that clear.

    Thanks

You can ask for anything you want. Is it unreasonable? Probably.

If there are other repairs you would like to have done you might not get them done if you upset the seller. Once you upset the seller you can't go back.
