    Default question about title transfer

    Hi

I'm a librarian and just had a question from a customer about a real estate arrangement he wants more info about.

His folks have purchased a house and the title is in their name. The house is actually for their grand-niece who will pay the mortgage, but the title won't be transferred to her until the mortgage has been paid off. Can anyone give me more info on this kind of arrangement?

    thanks in advance,
    David

i don't know about canada but in the states the niece is making a big mistake. she could make 20 years of payments on the house only to find her cousin inherited the house.
