We have an offer on a short sale home. Seller accepted and we are waiting on bank response. We were asked by the seller's realtor to open escrow and deposit the earnest money. They also asked us to withdraw offers we had made on other homes and we complied.

We've been waiting for a month, then found out today that the seller's agent accepeted another offer two days ago and submitted it to the bank for consideration.

Can they continue to take offers after they had us open escrow? It doesn't seem right that they made us stop looking at other homes for a month, but are still considering other offers.

Is this normal?
