    Default Vacant home insurance

Is there anyone here that has dealt with it. Are there any major companies that do it? My home is for sale, but I have moved out and it is vacant. I have only recieved one quote so far. $3,700 per year for an $85,000 house in Michigan. I'm guessing that this might not be too far out of line, but I really have no idea.

I think you will find if you shop it you will find that is way out of line.... I have many clients with empty homes that pay no where near that.... keep looking and take a cruise on your savings

an $85,000 home to be insured for $3,700 a year? that to me is quite high. I think Thesa is correct and I would definitely shop around and you'll find much more competitive rates for insurance.
