Default 3 day cooling off period

I sold my house - contract signed and 10% deposit obtained by cheque, the buyer then exercised the cooling off period because "he could no longer live in the area due to personal safety, due to personal feud". Am I eligible to receive any of the deposit or not? Thanks Kylie

I don't believe so, according to the FTC site you have to refund all money.

Yes I totally agree with reallyreal. Also, for the reason of cooling off period agreement.
