Default Do I need to pay dues to make money?

    Hello everyone, (TEXAS)

I recently got my inactive license and would like to start out as a student agent for a firm near my college. What kind of dues am I looking at when I go into an office that does primarily leasing (apartments, condos etc..)?

The reason I ask is because I just found at that its like 1200 bucks to become a member of the Local Board. yikes!

In any case, please help. I'd like to get into leasing for the summer as I hear that it can be a good business and a great experience during the summer here.

    Thank you,
    Tony Tovar

Typically, you do not need to belong to the association of realtors board to work in a lease/rental department of a real estate firm. The most definitive answer can only come from the company you want to work for. Call them up and have a chat.
