Default Thinking of buying a beach condo.....

I am thinking of buying a beach condo at myrtle beach that is part of a resort. I would like some information, if anyone has any, on what type of expenses I am looking at when owning this type of property. I would like to use the property as rental property as I was hoping that someone could provide some advice as to how I could do this so that the condo would pay for itself, if this is possible. I also would like to know if anyone has any info on the process of renting out such a property when it is owned through a resort, such as the percentage they take and the expenses of cleaning and utility bills

    Thanks,

    Tish

If the property is owned by a resort, the first thing you should think about is whether you can find a long term tenant for your property. Before, the majority of condo renters are seniors who do not have the strength to maintain a house but now, it is usually young people looking for a place to rent in order to find work in a big city. If the area is a resort, there is a big chance that it might be far from any major city center and you will end up with tenants who will only rent the property for a short time and majority of the time you have to pay for the maintenance and upkeep of the place if it is vacant.

    Default Near the water

Being so closed to the water, I would recommend talking to a professional about having a mold test / mold inspection prior to purchasing the property.

Being that you are so close to the water, the house will pick up alot of moisture. Be sure you have a professional come a check out the level of mold in the area.

Totally agree, I don't think any one can help you with exact rates or expenses. But think again before purchasing at beach.
