Personal seller's notes left for potential buyers???
Is it "unethical" for a seller to leave notes behind for potential buyers about their home that might not otherwise be listed on websites, ads etc? In other words, a seller types up a page of things like the types of wonderful neighbors they have, information about the neighborhood (park, library, stores in the area), backyard nature (types of birds, whats in the small fish pond (frozen now)) and those types of things?
I personally think this is a nice touch. It gives more of a personal touch than the flier/ad in the "Please Take" box out in front of the house gives. Thoughts???Last edited by AllenB; 02-06-2011 at 01:16 PM.

It is a good idea and I use it. But the letter needs to be proofread by your agent to ensure no violations of Fair housing or anything else that might be a liability for you. But it helps in my opinion to talk about why you are selling but hate to because you have loved living in this home because blah blah blah.

How could it possibly be unethical for sellers to brag about their house? Just don't tell any fibs because they could come back later and bite you.

Many people use this idea for the potential buyers so that they mean it! I mean it brings up with better relationship in future and they will definitely like this to be updated.
