Default Real Estate Agent while in College?

    Hello all,

I am just wondering about your thoughts on becoming an agent while in college. I have always been fascinated by real estate and have studied a couple parts of Philadelphia fairly well. I am very polished with an attitude to succeed and be the best. I have no problem putting in 80+ hours a week for work and school. I am just worried about shelling out the money to become a realtor. However, I have invested more money in myself in the past and it has worked out so I have no doubts. I am just new to real estate. I would greatly appreciate it.

    Sincerely,
    FuturePhilaInvestor

You might be better off doing freelance work while you are in school. Real estate is more of a career choice, and takes a lot of time to optimize and making everything truely worthwhile imo.

That's great, it serves as your training field in real estate marketing while in College. Maybe just manage your time in studying and being an agent. It's difficult to do both things like that but if you can. Go ahead.

If your main concern is money, I suggest you check your budget level. Becoming a real estate agent does require money, especially if you choose a mentoring program from a real estate company. You can inquire with people you know or your family if they know anyone in the real estate business that can mentor or guide you for a reasonable price or better yet for free. You might need to do some legwork on this because being in college, your main priority is money.

I think it's an excellent idea. You can get into leasing apartments while you build your database. By the time you graduate, you could have a long list of potential clients that by then could have the potential of buying a home. Best of luck to you!

There will not be any issue being a real estate agent while in Collage but, it is important to know all the basics involved in real estate and also, good relationships and network with other agents and clubs. This needs time and that you have to calculate !!

in my opinion, that's really an excellent idea...maybe it'll be harder in the beginning because you have to do two things in the same time (school and job)...but I think that with the time you'll succeed with both of them...anyway, good luck!

It's good to see such a great attitude. Ultimately, however, if you choose to go down this road, consider it a learning experience and getting yourself a head-start on the game, rather than a "job." It will be very hard to balance the two (work and school), and most agents earn little, if any, money in their first year. But, if you have a passion, by all means go for it!
