I am heading to sheriff sale later today to buy a home with a judgement of $181,000. The upset price is 92,000. I had a title search done and it came up with 2 liens... Both with the mortgage company. The first is for $158,000 and the second $12,000. The title search also showed 3 judgements...25,000 to a local hospital, the 181,000 to mortgage company and $300 for a sewer bill. My lawyer advised me if I win the bid at $92,000 I will not be responsible for the second mortgage or the bill to the hospital. Is this correct?? Dauphin county.
