Default Color of roof in relation to curb appeal

    Hi there,

We live in a house with red brick, beige paneling and green shutters. Also, we have a white garage door and our windows have white trim. As we're picking out shingles for our new roof, we're considering silver birch landmark Certainteed shingles (for their 'Energy Star' rating). Since the color of this shingle kind of looks more white and not just "silver", we were wondering if this color of roof may detract (a lot, a little, at all) from the curb appeal to the average prospective home buyer, or if the buyer would just care more about the type of shingle (these would be 30 year architectural, btw) and the age of the shingles.

I appreciate your feedback, in advance.

    Regards,
    Paul and Laura

From what you have explained it does not sound like you are sold on the color either. Would you buy the house with the white roof?
