    Default Escrow

    Hello,
Is the amount of escrow based on custom and is it negotiable? I am looking for a house in the $240,000 to $260,000 price range. What would be normal escrow?

Whatever you think is fair and how bad you want the place. If you KNOW there's competition for the property and you want it really bad, well.....

    Thanks,
But I think in my locality, escrow is set by the sellers agent.

I see, well, if we're talking about a cash transaction, usually it's like $1,000 cash or certified funds. I was under the impression you were speaking about non-cash transactions.
