Default What is the worst thing about moving?

What do you as a real estate professional or your clients like least about the moving process or movers in general? As a mover we hear all about the issues but I am curious to here from your perspective what are the most troublesome issues about moving?

Oh and if you are lucky enough to have used us or have had clients who have used our moving service you can also tell what you like most about moving or movers

Default Moving - homes, townhomes, condos

The biggest stressor we hear from all types of real estate buyers and sellers here in Minnesota is the time and energy involved in packing, unpacking, hauling, carrying, etc.

Sometimes of course buyers and sellers are able to really match up the close dates and close times well so there is not a lot of "double moving" that has to take place.

When it comes to movers: I think all clients want the movers to really take care of their possessions. Nicking the walls in the home or condo, or damaging some of the personal belongings can make for an unhappy client.

When I moved I could never believe how much work was involved and how much stuff I had accumulated over the years. And it always took so long!

i think this one is a big one. many people fail to realize just how much time it takes to prepare and move. Even if using professional movers there is no magic warp speed button to push...although it would be nice

moving is a very emotional time due to the process that one must go through leading up to the actual move date. from a movers perspective it is hard because you may be dealing with a logical person who is not thinking logically by the time the movers show up due to the pressure of buying/selling/closing and moving on.

For me the hardest thing about moving is that to pack all the stuff that I have into some boxes. It takes years to pack them.

The moving process in general is very stressful. Deciding what to get rid of and what to keep can be a very emotional time for many. Once that is dealt with the process runs more smoothly.
