Finding information on a Foreclosure
Hi, Been looking for a new home to purchase for little over half a year(via a agent and web). A friend of ours mentioned a house near hers that has gone into foreclosure, due to the couple splitting up and just letting the house sit. The house was built in 2004 and is in pretty decent shape.
So I did what I could to find out some information(went to county clerk and got loan/bank information) which led me to their lender. After calling about 30 different #'s, I finally got to the correct branch and asked if there was anyone I could talk to about a foreclosed home, the operator told me no but I could go on REO Trans to find it. That being said, our friend had talked to her neighbor and found out that they had to be clear of the house march 31st of this year(so about a month ago).
That being said, my wife and I would really like a opportunity at this house, or even just to see it(to rule out if it's for us or not. Our realtor stated that it could take over a year before the house even hits the market. My concern is, like I said before, this is a beautiful house, newer, and it seems like a waste that the bank would let it sit there for a year. It's already getting tall grass, and I can only imagine the brand new pool that was put in will just turn to a swamp if it sits through the summer.
So I I'm curious if anyone has any tips or ideas. I understand the process of a foreclosed home. But maybe there is something I'm missing that I could do or someone I could talk to. Even if I could get in line for the house(even if it was a year away), I would gladly go over and at least mow the lawn and keep the pool clean.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.
