    Default Designations on business cards

I have a question. Most Realtors add their designation after their name on business cards. John Doe, CCIM etc. Well, I'm a Realtor with an appraisal license. I was wondering if I could add my name and then CGRPA after it (Certified General Real Property Appraiser)? Can I do this or does it have to be a designation recognized by NAR?

I have seen some who added JD or CPA or MBA to theirs. I think so long as you hold those credentials, you can use them. Perhaps some others more knowledgeable can chime in.

You can add those titles you have. People love to see if a person has a title so that they can trust them even more. Just be sure that your name (Bold or easily recognize style) and contacts are on the business card, that's the most important thing.

    Default business cards

Why not! Most people trust those with titles, so better to add it up. Just see to it that your contact information are in your business cards, that's what really matters. And make professional-looking business cards.

Considering I have heard many people say they have no idea what all those abbreviations mean and do not care I wonder if it is really needed?

But on the other hand since you are an appraiser I would think this would help when you tell someone about market conditions and realistic prices.

Go for it! You worked to earn it, you can put it wherever you feel necessary.

Make sure you let people know what it means though.
