Default Questions to Ask a Real Estate Broker

Questions to Ask a Real Estate Broker

When making the decision to work with a real estate broker, there are basic questions that should be asked to determine whether the broker's services will be contracted. This information will only aid in the broker performing due diligence to the client.

    Contracts
Ask questions about the type of contractual relationship the broker will enter to perform services. Will it be an exclusive relationship, or is the client free to use other agents?

    Fees
The first and basic question that should be asked of any broker involves fees for services. Ask what percentage of a sale or purchase will be paid for their services. Ask what the terms of their fee will be and for how long will that fee be enforced after the contract.

    Knowledge
Ask how long the broker has been in business as well as the type of properties he has sold in the past. Ask whether the broker has any special certifications that add advantages to using her services.

    Work Ethic
Ask what type of clients the broker has and the days and hours the broker prefers to work.

    Workload
Knowing how many other clients a broker has will help in understanding the amount of time he may be willing to commit.

Good questions to ask. There are lots to consider when working with a broker, e.g. the brokers reliability, professionalism, offers good quality listings and commit himself to provide you a satisfying real estate service etc. So be inquisitive enough to know all the things that are essential when investing in the real estate property.

great post.....a large amount brokers concentrate on one or two property types, such as offices or warehouses. Select a broker who has a confirmed track record in the type of space you need. knowledge is the best way to judge the caliber of a broker
