Links to rules, regulations, and procedures?
Dear all,
I'm a Norwegian located in Norway looking for information on rules, regulations, and procedures regarding real estate transactions in the US in order to learn and perhaps improve locale procedures.
Are there any good links describing these? I'm particularly interested in how homes are offered, what happens when there are multiple interests (e.g. in Norway every sale is an auction), contract rules, the escrow period (there is no such thing in Norway, you make an offer and it's yours), and what happens when buyer find defects after the sale is closed.

In the US, the real estate laws and rules are governed by each individual state so there is not an answer to any of your questions until you pick a state.

I'm aware of that. I'm looking for information on how to improve rules, regulations and procedures so any state would serve this purpose.
Also if you know some procedures in some states which are better than other states for some reason I would be happy to know that too.
I don't expect anybody to list all the regulations etc. here, but if I could get some pointers to web sites and other references I would be very happy.
